Modulate your modulation.

A cascade of filters

In it's essence, Cultra is two tap/delay signals, one fed into two parallel phasers with opposing notches that are both fed into a frequency shifter which combines back to the second "dry" tap (I did make a flow chart, see below). At least, it's dry until someone slaps some feedback in there. But maybe that's not enough and you want to morph your sound into an other-worldly entity...

So, I present you the humble chain chip.

Chain chips: x1, x2, x4

For those seeking some truly alien and morphological audio experiences, look no further than our un-patented chain chips! One click will give you two or even four instances chained together -- be wary dear traveller!

But seriously, be careful -- I want to heed anyone who approaches this plugin with a warning. As with any feedback, things can get out of hand VERY QUICKLY. This can multiply with more instances -- I recommend always enganging a safety-clip by right clicking the chain chip after selecting the two higher options, as well as the tanh saturation in the center on the delay/frequency shifter.

x2 delivers thick phasers, stand-out flange and a frequency shifter set to laser-zap.

x4 is truly resonant and alien territory. Feedback becomes a weapon.

But if all that's too much, any stage can be turned off to allow for a combination of flanger, phaser, or frequency shift - easily culled with a right-click.

The signal chain

▶ Audio In

Two Taps

Dry and wet delay lines — the flanger core. Harmonically spaced notches that weave through every downstream stage.

Flange

Second 'dry' tap

Biquad Phaser

Control spreaad, notch count, center (key/midi sync) and formula, with 360 degree encode to blend between notch distributions log, exponential and a unique flam.

"Inverted" Phaser

Give the phaser more depth. Both of these are ocntrolable  via PHSR A/B in the mod matrix.

Hz

Freq Shift

SSB frequency shifter with stereo sync and feedback. From subtle shimmer to full laser-zap resonance.

Mod Matrix

Orchestrate all parameters with precision.

Per-row LFO control for complex, evolving motion. Feedback and distortion

🎹

Note-Snap

MIDI or key-locked filter snap. Western, pentatonic, and non-Western modes.

🎹

Distortion

Make the filters sing (or scream) with some carefully placed distortion.
